Role Overview

The position of Global Director of Vulnerability Management & Security Configuration involves spearheading and implementing a company-wide strategy aimed at mitigating technology risk across infrastructure, cloud, and AI-powered environments. The role emphasizes transitioning from conventional vulnerability management to advanced, AI-infused, risk-oriented approaches, integrating automation, contextual risk prioritization, and sophisticated analytics to diminish the threat landscape effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the worldwide strategy for vulnerability management and security configuration covering infrastructure (both on-premises and cloud), endpoints, and platforms.
• Lead the evolutionary shift from legacy to AI-enhanced systems incorporating risk-based prioritization, automated remediation, and threat-informed decision-making aligned with enterprise risk and CTEM policies.
• Manage and expand the global vulnerability management program encompassing asset discovery, risk prioritization, remediation efforts, governance procedures, security configurations, and continuous compliance enforcement.
• Deploy risk assessment models leveraging threat intelligence, exploitability data, asset criticality, and external exposure to enforce comprehensive policies and remediation standards.
• Set, monitor, and enforce hardening baselines for enterprise assets with continuous assessment for deviations, ensuring adherence to regulatory and industry benchmarks.
• Lead and nurture a lean team consisting of approximately 4 full-time employees and 10 contractors, fostering a culture centered on hands-on engineering expertise.
• Provide transparent executive-level reporting on risks, exposures, and remediation progress; champion governance protocols including exception handling and SLA enforcement.

Desired Experience and Skills

• Extensive experience in cybersecurity, particularly in vulnerability management and security engineering.
• Demonstrated capability in building and scaling enterprise-wide security programs.
• In-depth knowledge of infrastructure and cloud security, configuration management, system hardening, and DevSecOps platform integrations.
• Proven leadership in managing large-scale transformation and modernization initiatives.
