About The Role
We are seeking a skilled GIS Administrator to ensure the robustness, efficiency, and accuracy of enterprise GIS platforms. This role involves managing spatial data processes, overseeing system administration on both cloud and local setups, and enabling precise geospatial analysis that supports organizational and client decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ArcGIS Enterprise environments across on-premise and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS, including tasks like patching, monitoring, managing user permissions, and handling license administration.
- Oversee enterprise geodatabases with responsibilities including version control, reconciliation, replication, archiving, and ensuring data integrity.
- Conduct spatial data migration activities involving data profiling, cleansing, transformation, validation, and publishing.
- Create and sustain FME workspaces to automate workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and integration.
- Develop Python scripts to automate geoprocessing tasks, platform duties, and monitor data quality.
- Support spatial database management across MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, and AWS RDS environments.
- Provide user support for GIS tools and services, including publishing and troubleshooting, escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation such as data dictionaries, migration logs, and operational runbooks that comply with governance standards.
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of practical experience administering ArcGIS Enterprise within live production settings.
- Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise components including Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Data Store, and Web Adaptor.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing enterprise geodatabases covering versioning, replication, reconciliation, and archiving.
- Practical experience with FME for spatial data integration and automation tasks.
- Proficiency in using MS SQL for spatial data management, with familiarity with PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, and AWS RDS.
- Competent in Python scripting for GIS automation and geoprocessing.
- Experience utilizing ArcGIS Pro for spatial analysis, data editing, and service publication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with field data collection applications such as ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123.
- Knowledge of Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards and RESTful GIS service architectures.
- Experience working with cloud-hosted or regulated environments.
- Understanding of DevOps or Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices applied to GIS platforms.
- Background in sectors like public administration, urban planning, or land management.
