Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Geotechnical Engineer with 2 to 5 years of experience to join our Auckland office. The role involves providing design and consulting services for projects within New Zealand and Australia, focused on infrastructure development in the underground sector during a period of market growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical engineering analyses and calculations related to tunnels, shafts, foundations, retaining structures, ground improvement, and seismic assessments.
• Interpret and characterize soil and rock engineering properties using site investigation data.
• Collaborate across disciplines to address complex engineering challenges and assist in preparing project deliverables including research and recommendations.
• Develop detailed technical reports presenting the design rationale and proposed solutions.
• Adhere to internal QAQC procedures and participate in quality assurance reviews prior to client submissions.
• Engage in project meetings and assist with coordinating site visits and stakeholder communications.
• Conduct fieldwork such as site inspections of construction activities and geotechnical site investigations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Between 2 and 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering design.
• Proficient in numerical analysis with experience using geotechnical software such as Plaxis, FLAC, UDEC, and the Rocscience suite.
• Knowledgeable of relevant Australian Standards, including AS5100 and AS/NZS 1170.
• Strong communication abilities and a willingness to broaden expertise across other disciplines and field practices.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) registration is preferred but not mandatory.
