Position Overview

We seek a capable and dependable General Technician to join the team at Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara, based in Abu Dhabi. This role involves supporting daily maintenance operations within the staff accommodation facilities, providing timely repairs, and ensuring a safe and pleasant living environment for team members.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance activities across various buildings in the staff accommodation area.
• Address maintenance requests encompassing electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, painting, air conditioning, and general building upkeep.
• Conduct systematic inspections of rooms, communal areas, equipment, and facilities to identify any maintenance needs.
• Execute air conditioning cleaning, basic servicing, and preventive measures as required.
• Carry out minor electrical repairs, plumbing fixes, painting jobs, and other general maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies reported by team members.
• Ensure all maintenance work is completed to a high standard while adhering to safety protocols.
• Properly maintain all tools, equipment, and maintenance materials.
• Report significant defects, equipment failures, or major maintenance needs to supervisory staff.
• Assist contractors and specialist technicians as necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in work areas following completion of tasks.
• Comply with all company health, safety, hygiene, and accommodation policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work in a remote resort location and support the accommodation team as per operational demands.

Qualifications and Experience

• Prior experience in a General Technician, Maintenance Technician, or related maintenance role.
• Practical knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, painting, and general maintenance operations.
• Experience with maintenance in staff accommodations, hotels, resorts, or residential properties is an advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Committed to safety practices with a reliable work ethic.
• Availability for flexible working hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Willingness to reside and work in a remote resort setting.
