Job description
Role Overview
This position is dedicated to delivering safe, effective healthcare services to patients registered at DMC Primary Care. The GP will provide clinical care aligned with the [GMS/PMS] contract and uphold the GMC standards for medical best practice. The role involves collaborating positively with the multidisciplinary team and contributing to practice management and quality improvements.
Job Commitment
This is a full-time role comprising 9 sessions each week. Compensation ranges from 3,000 to 3,200 annually per session.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality medical care to the patient population entitled under the practice
- Providing services consistent with the General Medical Services contract
- Prescribing treatments based on local and national guidelines
- Managing long-term health conditions using CESEL protocols
- Timely handling of administrative tasks including referrals and repeat prescriptions
- Participating in telephone triage and duty doctor shifts on a rotational basis
- Maintaining precise clinical records in line with best practices and policies
- Sharing practice workload equitably through collaboration
- Following clinical best practice and audit suggestions
- Driving continuous improvement and quality initiatives
- Assuming responsibility for designated areas such as QOF
- Engaging in practice meetings and contributing to governance, training, financial management, and HR processes
- Complying with appraisal and revalidation requirements
- Embracing continuous professional development and encouraging this ethos within the team
- Supporting medical student training across all disciplines
- Helping to realise the practice's strategic goals, including financial optimisation
- Adhering to practice protocols and policies consistently
- Promoting continuous improvement through regular team interaction
- Taking part in practice audits and local initiatives to improve patient care
- Participating in the review of significant clinical events
