Role Summary

This full-time, on-site General Practitioner position is located in Fitzroy North, Victoria. Responsibilities encompass delivering comprehensive primary care including diagnosing and managing both acute and chronic medical conditions, conducting preventive health assessments, and educating patients. Key duties include consulting with patients, ordering and reviewing diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and coordinating care with allied health professionals and specialists. Accurate clinical documentation, adherence to practice guidelines, and involvement in ongoing quality improvement are essential. The General Practitioner will collaborate with nursing and administrative teams, attend practice meetings, and participate in community health initiatives aligned with Brecken Health's mission.

Qualifications and Skills

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with full registration through AHPRA; vocational registration such as FRACGP is preferred.
• Established expertise in general practice covering management of acute and chronic illnesses, preventive care, and patient assessments.
• Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic competence, and prescribing skills, with dedication to evidence-based protocols and guidelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to foster trust across diverse patient groups and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency with general practice clinical software and electronic medical records; adeptness in utilizing modern IT systems and digital workflows.
• Dedication to patient-centered care, confidentiality, professional ethics, and cultural safety to ensure accessible, quality services.
• Effective workload management, task prioritization, and contribution to practice operations including quality improvement and clinical audits.
• Experience in community health initiatives, promotion, or outreach is advantageous, along with prior work in similar clinical or group practice settings.
