About the Company
A reputable and expanding manufacturing firm based in the Lurgan area is looking to hire a General Operative to join their production team. This permanent job offers a unique chance to work with a stable employer providing a four-day workweek and consistent overtime options.
Role Overview
As a General Operative, your main responsibility will be to support everyday production activities within a busy manufacturing setting. Key tasks include operating machinery, handling steel products, performing quality inspections, assisting with loading and unloading, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and supporting broader production and warehouse functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various production machinery and equipment efficiently and safely
- Safely handle and transport steel materials within the facility
- Conduct quality control checks on finished goods to ensure standards
- Assist with material loading and unloading as required
- Keep the work environment clean, organized, and safe
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations at all times
- Provide support to other production and warehouse operations when needed
Candidate Requirements
- Prior experience working in manufacturing, engineering, or production settings
- Skills operating machinery are beneficial
- Forklift driving licence or experience is preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong dedication to product quality
- Effective communication abilities and aptitude for teamwork
- Positive mindset and eagerness to learn new tasks
Compensation and Work Schedule
- Hourly wage of £14.00 with overtime paid at 1.5 times the base rate
- Permanent employment from the start of the position
- Work schedule runs Monday to Thursday, from 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM
- Fridays off every week, enabling a four-day work week
