About the Role
Joining Walmart Canada as a General Merchandise Associate offers a valuable chance to acquire skills in a fast-moving retail setting. This role involves upholding Walmart's values by providing outstanding customer service, ensuring the sales floor is tidy and prepared for customers, and assisting with stocking and selling activities related to general merchandise. Key Duties
- Deliver warm, professional assistance to customers by greeting them, aiding with product choices, promoting items and services, locating merchandise, supporting purchase decisions, and addressing or directing customer inquiries as necessary.
- Maintain assigned sales floor areas and assist at the Front End when required; coordinate with team members to ensure consistent floor coverage and meet customer needs.
- Keep designated zones clean and organized; relocate featured merchandise appropriately and manage recovered products from customer service and other locations.
- Stock merchandise, execute downstocking tasks, apply product protection as needed, and establish or update modular displays including flexible modulars and shelf caps.
- Ensure workplace safety and cleanliness by following company policies, completing safety inspections, and securing displays and fixtures.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, adapting to business demands to maintain smooth store operations.
Challenges in This Position
- Handle a high volume of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing overnight hours with proper planning to stay energized and focused.
- Manage extensive restocking and recovery duties accurately and punctually despite workload intensity.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 20 lbs regularly, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Carry out repetitive duties like stocking, zoning, and organization with consistent attention to detail to uphold store standards.

The base hourly wage for this role starts at $16.90.
