Position Overview

We are seeking a General Manager for the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Nigeria. This role demands an individual who transcends academic credentials with qualities such as character, talent, and enthusiasm for crafting outstanding guest experiences. A proactive mindset anticipating guest needs, supporting team members, and consistently exceeding expectations is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the hotel's Profit & Loss (P&L) and manage all day-to-day operational activities.
  • Plan and direct the efforts of a diverse team, ensuring efficient and profitable business operations.
  • Exhibit strong leadership to cultivate teamwork and professionalism among staff members.
  • Operate the hotel in full alignment with brand standards while surpassing guest expectations.
  • Effectively communicate and implement company strategies throughout the hotel.
  • Serve as a vital liaison between the central management team and property owners.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in hotel management or a closely related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and excellent problem-solving abilities with a fervor for hospitality.
  • Capability to balance the execution of operational plans with a focus on guest experience, revenue, and achieving commercial goals.
  • Collaborate with departmental heads to boost business potential, uphold brand reputation, and ensure compliance with legal and fiscal requirements.
  • Report directly to the District Director for Nigeria and/or the Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Desirable attributes include flexibility, positive "Yes I Can!" attitude, keen attention to detail, creativity in problem-solving, teamwork orientation, strong verbal communication skills, and an enjoyment of a fun work environment.
  • Experience in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) and sales specific to the Nigerian market is important.
  • Previous resort management experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
