About JHOPE Technology Consultancy & Agency
JHOPE Technology Consultancy & Agency (JHOPE TCA) is a social impact organization based in Tanzania, focused on leveraging technology, skills training, and inclusive entrepreneurship to empower marginalized communities. Headquartered in Dodoma, JHOPE TCA bridges ICT, education, and sustainable livelihood sectors to tackle socio-economic challenges affecting vulnerable populations such as youth, women, persons with disabilities, refugees, and those impacted by poverty or chronic illnesses. Their programs include ICT training, digital literacy, entrepreneurship mentorship, vocational training, and community capacity-building projects executed with support from both public and private partners.
Role Overview
The General Manager position, located full-time on-site in Dodoma, is responsible for the comprehensive leadership of daily organizational operations. This includes supervising program planning, execution, and evaluation in technology, entrepreneurship, and vocational skill development. The role demands effective management of staff and volunteers, collaboration with external partners, financial oversight including budgeting and resource management, risk mitigation, and impact reporting. Moreover, the General Manager will advocate for JHOPE TCA’s mission in community forums and nurture strategic alliances to launch new programs responsive to local needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven leadership and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and stakeholders efficiently.
- Experience in project lifecycle management within social impact or NGO contexts, including planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Familiarity with ICT or technology-based initiatives and capability to support technical teams.
- Competency in financial and resource management, along with grant administration.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and partnership creation skills, particularly with government bodies, NGOs, and community groups.
- Prior involvement in entrepreneurship, vocational training, or livelihood enhancement initiatives especially in marginalized communities.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Development Studies, ICT, or a related discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Demonstrable commitment to inclusion, gender equality, disability rights, and ethical engagement.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in Dodoma, with excellent problem-solving aptitude and flexibility in a fast-changing environment.
- Fluency in English and Swahili, complemented by strong reporting and presentation skills.
