Role Overview

The position of General Manager Human Resources is a full-time, on-site role located in Yangon, responsible for managing all HR functions and strategic projects. Key duties include formulating and executing HR policies, directing recruitment and selection efforts, and ensuring efficient onboarding and employee retention. This role also covers managing employee relations, overseeing performance management, and developing talent initiatives, while maintaining compliance with labor laws and company regulations. Daily tasks involve leading the HR team, advising senior leadership on human capital strategies, managing HR budgets, and nurturing a positive and inclusive workplace culture. The manager will also establish HR objectives, track HR performance metrics, and promote ongoing improvements in HR processes and systems.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources with capability to manage complete HR functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in HR leadership including planning, organizing, and directing HR teams and projects.
  • Expertise in HR policies and human resource development, including design and implementation of HR frameworks and training programs.
  • Strong skills in employee relations, conflict resolution, and fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment.
  • Experience in strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition, and performance appraisal methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of labor law requirements and HR compliance procedures.
  • Proven leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder engagement abilities, with strong collaboration with senior management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with fluency in written and spoken English suited for business contexts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or related field; advanced HR certifications or postgraduate degrees are preferable.
  • Previous senior HR leadership or generalist HR management experience, ideally within communications or allied sectors.
