While the franchisee operates under the McDonald's name, it is a separate entity responsible for all employment decisions such as hiring, firing, supervision, scheduling, and discipline. Role Summary
The General Manager role entails overseeing a profitable restaurant, ensuring adherence to McDonald's standards of quality, service, and cleanliness. This pivotal role works closely with leadership to establish restaurant goals and develop strategies to meet them.
Leadership and Team Management
The General Manager leads a team of Department Managers, guiding them in goal-setting, monitoring progress, and coaching to enhance each department's performance. This collaborative approach drives overall restaurant success. Responsibilities also include recruiting and nurturing Department and Shift Managers to maintain a strong leadership pipeline.
Ideal Background
Candidates should bring prior experience as a General Manager, particularly in high-volume establishments. Experience within quick service restaurants is highly preferred, though backgrounds in hospitality or retail are also relevant. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to qualify for managerial positions.
