Job Description
The General Manager is responsible for achieving the hotel's targets in revenue, profit, market penetration, customer service, and employee satisfaction. This role involves devising, executing, and adhering to strategic business plans, budgets, and investment plans aligned with annual business planning guidelines. These plans should be informed by strong market knowledge and realistic yet ambitious goals forecasting short- and long-term market developments, always aiming to enhance market penetration.
The manager must monitor hotel results regularly and implement corrective actions if performance falls short. This includes evaluating the competitive set's performance and acting if market share declines. They are expected to create value in all activities and decisions, embody and communicate the Radisson Blu, Radisson Collection, and Radisson Hotels & Resorts philosophies, missions, and visions.
Maintaining a constructive working relationship and open dialogue with hotel owners is vital. The General Manager must fully understand all contractual relations between the hotel brands and owners, ensuring compliance with obligations and proactively managing any potential conflicts between owners and hotel interests.
Engagement with local market initiatives is essential, including participation in senior management commercial calls and client events. Proactive activities to promote brand recognition, such as involvement in local organizations and clubs with decision-makers, authorities, media, and opinion leaders, are encouraged.
The General Manager ensures maximum implementation, continuous training, and adherence to corporate guest satisfaction programs, personally handling guest complaints following "Yes I Can!" guidelines—contacting guests by phone followed by written communication. They oversee satisfaction reports and take corrective measures if needed.
They are responsible for guaranteeing that hotel staff receive the necessary training in professional skills and service attitude, promoting brand values, encouraging personal development, supporting training initiatives, and participating in task force missions. Facilitating staff transfers within or outside the region and ensuring career progression for high-performing employees fall under their remit.
Protecting the brand image of Radisson Blu, Radisson, and Radisson Collection Hotels & Resorts according to company guidelines is a key responsibility.
Familiarity with and enforcement of company policies is required, including ensuring all employees understand and are trained on the Company's Code of Business Ethics. Department heads must acknowledge receipt of this Code as per company directives.
Qualifications
- Higher education degree in Hospitality Management is essential.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in General Management.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Experience working with an international hotel brand is crucial.
