General Maintenance Person

Position Overview

Romantic Castles of Ireland is seeking a General Maintenance Person for Cabra Castle, located in Kells, County Meath, Ireland. The role involves ensuring all areas and equipment are maintained in excellent condition and assisting with remodels and construction as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain work and back-of-house areas in a clean and orderly state.
• Perform daily inspections in public areas to identify and address issues such as broken items or lighting problems.
• Execute maintenance and repairs in public spaces, guest rooms, and back-of-house sections.
• Implement consistent preventive maintenance like painting touch-ups and minor repairs while updating maintenance records.
• Coordinate work within time limits set by maintenance and housekeeping managers, mindful of guest check-in/out and room occupancy.
• Collaborate closely with front office and housekeeping managers to ensure smooth operations involving maintenance.
• Follow directions from the maintenance and accommodation managers to complete daily tasks.
• Assist in remodeling and construction tasks when required.
• Promptly report and mitigate any potential or actual hazards.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience and knowledge in general building maintenance.
• Skilled in minor carpentry, plumbing, structural repairs, and painting.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality workmanship and a clean finish.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Capable of working independently and collaboratively, taking instructions effectively.
• Well-organized and efficient in completing tasks within deadlines.
• Possession of own tools is preferred.
• Holds a full clean driving license.
