Role Overview

The General Ledger Manager will oversee the General Ledger function, ensuring precise financial record-keeping, timely month-end closures, and adherence to accounting standards and company policies. Collaboration with the Finance Director and other finance teams is vital to guarantee dependable financial reporting and robust controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the General Ledger to ensure accurate recording of company financial transactions.
• Manage closing activities for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end periods efficiently.
• Review and validate journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and provisions regularly.
• Ensure timely and precise financial reports are generated.
• Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts to detect and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain compliance with IFRS, internal accounting policies, and control procedures.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and other finance units for seamless operations.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports as required.
• Liaise with external auditors by providing necessary financial documentation.
• Identify and implement enhancements to accounting processes and internal controls.
• Ensure thorough documentation in accordance with company finance procedures.
• Lead and develop the General Ledger team, providing support and guidance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 8 to 15 years of pertinent experience in accounting roles.
• Proven background in General Ledger or financial accounting management.
• In-depth understanding of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Familiarity with ERP or accounting software systems.
• Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with stakeholders effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification such as SOCPA, ACCA, CPA, or CMA is highly regarded.
• Experience in industries like real estate, hospitality, or property management is advantageous.
