Position Overview

The General Laborer role, located in Fargo, North Dakota, involves installing underground electrical and communication infrastructure. This includes safely operating excavation tools and equipment to dig trenches needed for electrical projects, following company policies, regulations, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavation machinery such as jackhammers and tampers to dig trenches for electrical installations.
• Perform concrete-related tasks when required.
• Report any maintenance needs for vehicles, tools, and equipment to the construction manager.
• Carry out routine vehicle maintenance as directed by the project superintendent.
• Seek clarifications to ensure clear understanding of work priorities and deliverables; accept feedback for ongoing improvement.
• Participate actively in weekly safety meetings and follow instructions independently without close supervision.
• Foster positive relationships with customers, foremen, project teams, contractors, vendors, and suppliers aligned with company values and customer satisfaction goals.
• Consistently demonstrate attentiveness and safe practices to protect personal and team safety.
• Utilize continuous improvement methods such as LEAN to enhance operational efficiency.
• Exemplify company mission, vision, and values by adhering to ethical practices and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all interactions.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• Up to 1 year of hands-on experience in fieldwork within the industry.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card.
• Willingness to travel within the designated work region, including occasional overnight stays.
• Physical capability to lift at least 75 pounds.
• A positive team attitude with strong work ethic.
• Open to learning new skills and receptive to constructive feedback.
• Strong orientation towards customer service and teamwork.
• Possession of a Class A commercial driver’s license is preferred but not mandatory.
