General Laborer

Job Overview

This position involves assisting throughout the shop with various helper duties as directed, supporting welders and other production staff to ensure efficient workflow and quality output.

Key Responsibilities

• Support welders by preparing materials and assisting with finishing tasks such as grinding and cutting.
• Stage production jobs by organizing supplies, fixtures, and pallets for welders and other facility personnel.
• Prepare fabricated products for shipment by performing tasks like palletizing, banding, wrapping, and labeling.
• Unload delivery trucks, verify received materials for accuracy and damage, and transport them to designated areas or workstations daily.
• Operate robotic welding machinery to manufacture scissor assemblies and metal parts, including loading/unloading, weld quality inspection, and basic troubleshooting.
• Monitor robot operations to identify defects or malfunctions, escalating issues beyond production standards.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, excess weld material, slag, or spatter using hand or bench grinders and power tools.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning duties to maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
• Adhere strictly to safety regulations, actively observing and correcting unsafe conditions as necessary.
• Carry out additional assignments as required.

Job Requirements

• Ability to read and use measurement tools including tape measure, combination square, carpenter's square, and T-square.
• Preferably have prior welding experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with brake presses, welding operations, and shipping/receiving processes is advantageous.
• Capacity to develop specialized skills related to welding, blueprint reading, and machine operation is beneficial.
