Role Overview
This General Helper position operates out of a top-tier Dexterra camp facility with a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off work rotation and 11-hour shifts. Transportation to the site is provided from designated pickup points. The role involves assisting kitchen operations, including cleaning and sanitizing kitchen spaces, tools, equipment, and dishes.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize designated kitchen and dining areas thoroughly.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining room floors and tables.
- Clean major kitchen equipment such as refrigerators and ovens.
- Wash pots, dishes, glasses, and cups promptly after meals and as needed.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks when necessary.
- Restock and rotate food items including desserts, sandwiches, beverages, and condiments.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing supplies and inventory.
- Ensure all activities comply with health, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Candidate Profile
- At least six months of experience in kitchen or catering roles within the food service, hospitality, or remote lodge environments.
- Strong command of English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Holding FoodSafe Level I certification; additional certifications such as SafeCheck advanced food safety or HACCP are advantageous.
- Effective in managing multiple tasks and organizing workloads.
- Ability to pass the mandatory WHMIS test with a minimum score of 80%.
