Job Overview
We are seeking qualified educators to serve as Examiners for the GCE A Level Statistics (2017 specification). The role primarily involves marking candidates’ exam scripts according to the defined mark schemes and maintaining rigorous examination standards. Most marking is conducted digitally via the ePEN system, allowing for work at home; however, some subjects still require handling traditional paper scripts delivered by post.
Key Responsibilities
- Mark examination responses accurately and consistently to uphold assessment quality.
- Submit marking samples to the Team Leader within specified deadlines.
- Adhere strictly to all designated marking milestones and schedules.
- Complete all necessary administrative tasks as outlined by the examination board.
Candidate Requirements
- At least one academic year of teaching experience in the relevant subject within the past eight years, post teacher qualification.
- Possession of a degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Certification as a qualified teacher.
- Strong command of subject knowledge sufficient to apply the detailed mark scheme effectively.
- Capability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Additional Details
- The marking window runs from May through July each year.
- Training sessions for examiners occur between May and June.
