Overview of Corporate Development Group (CDG)
The Corporate Development Group serves as Tencent's platform for incubating new ventures and exploring innovative business opportunities. It drives growth and technological advancement particularly in financial technology, advertising, payment systems, and financial applications. The group provides strategic support including planning, investments, investor relations, corporate communications, marketing, and public relations across the company.
Role Responsibilities
- Perform quantitative analyses on foreign exchange strategies to inform decision-making.
- Compile, organize, and model data from the FX platform to uncover novel strategic opportunities based on rigorous, data-driven insights.
- Monitor and assess deployed strategies statistically, identify underlying market patterns, and refine performance according to fluctuating market and business environments.
- Lead extensive data management efforts by building and continuously improving the FX platform’s data infrastructure while ensuring data integrity.
- Develop quantitative FX customer profiles tailored to business needs, aiding business teams with analytical tools and actionable insights.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in quantitative analysis or development roles within banking or financial institutions.
- Deep knowledge of financial markets enriched with sharp insight to detect significant market trends.
- Strong proficiency in classical statistical methods, data analytics, and programming, capable of autonomous end-to-end data analysis enhanced by AI assistance.
- Exceptional logical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities to simplify complex challenges and extract critical insights.
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and deliver clear presentations.
- Demonstrates strong ownership, curiosity, and passion for quantitative finance.
- Resilient and efficient in managing work in high-pressure and dynamic environments.
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of various FX products, trading conventions, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record in building or improving quantitative FX trading strategies.
- Experience analyzing the trading behavior or execution patterns of counterparties.
