Functional Business Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Functional Business Analyst with 6 to 9 years of expertise, particularly in finance-related projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel, Excel Macros, MS PowerPoint, and SharePoint, along with sound knowledge of software development cycles and tools like JIRA. Strong data analysis capabilities are essential to excel in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Business Unit Specialists to gather, review, and validate business requirements thoroughly.
• Conduct impact assessments and analyze "to-be" business and operational processes to align with agreed requirements.
• Define comprehensive functional and non-functional requirements that support business goals.
• Identify, monitor, and manage risks and issues around requirements and prevent scope creep.
• Evaluate and estimate the impact of project change requests.
• Effectively transfer requirements to System Analysts, ensuring clarity and completeness.
• Maintain traceability from business requirements to functional specifications to keep alignment consistent.
• Review test plans and functional test scopes prepared by the testing team.
• Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including managing defect prioritization, tracking, and resolution.

Candidate Requirements

• 8-10 years of proven experience in business analysis, specifically with finance projects.
• Highly skilled in data management and familiar with financial systems.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory compliance.
• Competent in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting purposes.
• Familiarity with change management and foundational project management methodologies.
• Collaborative team player with leadership ability, capable of driving teamwork and solving complex problems.
• Dedicated and resilient professional able to work effectively in ambiguous situations and meet pressure-driven deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a knack for fostering strong stakeholder relationships.
