Job Overview
We are looking for a passionate Sales Associate to join our Halifax store team. You will leverage your knowledge and experience to assist pet owners in choosing the best nutrition and pet care products. This role offers the opportunity to grow within a respected retail company and connect with fellow pet lovers.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the cashier and conduct customer sales efficiently.
- Prepare merchandise orders, handle banking tasks, and complete paperwork.
- Stock small items (under 10 lbs) such as pet supplies and household goods on sales floor shelves.
- Perform store maintenance including sweeping and dusting.
- Assist with unloading deliveries containing cases and bags of pet food and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs and restocking them.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Friendly, outgoing personality with strong customer service focus.
- Physical capability to frequently lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable attendance, including availability for evening and weekend shifts.
- Availability to work during the holiday season is required.
- Must have dependable transportation to commute to and from the store.
