Job description
Overview
We are seeking an energetic individual passionate about assisting customers and eager to advance their career at The Home Depot. As a Parking Lot Associate, you will play a key role in ensuring customers are supported while loading their products and maintaining a safe, welcoming parking area.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet, engage, and thank customers following The Home Depot’s GET Model of customer service.
- Keep a sufficient number of shopping carts conveniently positioned near the store entrance.
- Engage customers with open-ended questions to understand their project needs and expertise level.
- Offer assistance with loading merchandise into customer vehicles and shopping carts.
- Plan and implement safe and secure loading of products as per Safe Loading Training guidelines.
- Maintain safety by keeping exits and loading areas clear and free of clutter.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping debris from the front apron and lumber loading zone.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
- Operate equipment following all appropriate safety protocols.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Perform physical activities including bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving items.
- Work schedule includes flexible hours, potentially evenings and weekends.
- Work environment is warehouse-like, possibly dusty and noisy.
- Exposure to varied weather conditions while assisting customers outdoors.
- Frequent exposure to drafts and temperature changes due to open doors.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience in retail work.
Additional Information
- This position reports directly to the Front End Supervisor.
- No travel requirements are associated with this role.
