Job Summary

The janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of assigned buildings. Responsibilities include performing deep cleaning tasks such as floor care, carpet shampooing, wall and window washing, and rubbish removal to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.

Key Duties

• Properly collecting and disposing of trash according to protocols and infection control plans.
• Dusting and damp mopping floors following established procedures.
• Rearranging equipment and furniture to facilitate cleaning and restoring furniture to correct positions.
• Sanitizing all surfaces using assigned materials and equipment, adhering to an eight-step cleaning process.
• Cleaning walls, windows, baseboards, and furniture to uphold a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Proactively identifying and addressing cleaning needs throughout the facility.
• Completing all assigned tasks as directed by the supervisor.
• Performing cleaning duties in compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
• Conducting floor maintenance including stripping, scrubbing, buffing, refinishing, and carpet shampooing.
• Maintaining professionalism while interacting with customers, coworkers, and others.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Work Schedule and Locations

Positions are available primarily at Hardin Elementary, 700 Bulldog Street, White Hall, AR 72132, as well as at other district locations. The work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, with hours varying; details are provided during the interview. Both full-time and part-time options are available to accommodate scheduling needs. Applications are accepted online only and on a rolling basis.

Qualifications

Prior experience in janitorial services is preferred but not required. Candidates must be capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Some positions may require Florida Level 2 background screening.
