Full-Time Grounds Keeper

Overview

Join the King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort Courtyard by Marriott located on the scenic Island of Hawaii as a dedicated Full-Time Grounds Keeper. This role is crucial in delivering excellent guest experiences by maintaining the landscape and outdoor areas of the property with aloha spirit.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold a positive, courteous, and welcoming attitude when interacting with hotel guests.
• Engage in clear and efficient communication with both guests and colleagues.
• Perform routine landscaping duties including cleaning, trimming, weeding, watering, and care of grass and plants throughout the hotel grounds.
• Maintain cleanliness of walkways and external areas.
• Operate lawn equipment for mowing, edging, fertilizing, and raking lawns.
• Trim flowers, plants, and small trees, and plant grass, ground covers, and other plants as needed.
• Manage weed control in landscaped, parking, and sidewalk areas.
• Conduct soil turning and reseeding to maintain healthy lawns.
• Remove trash and cigarette butts from outdoor spaces and clean trash enclosures.
• Address cobweb removal on buildings, fences, light fixtures, and vegetation.
• Assist with exterior maintenance projects and uphold maintenance care of tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and other hotel departments to support overall department and hotel performance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management, with the understanding that job responsibilities may be updated at management's discretion.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum two years of experience in gardening or landscaping.
• Familiarity with lawn, plant, and tree care, sprinkler systems, and the safe application of insecticides and herbicides.
• Experience in maintaining gardening equipment safely.
• Dependability and bondability are required.
• Ability to speak English or be bilingual.
• Skills in prioritization, organization, and sound judgment are essential.
