Full-Time Flex Shopper

Position Overview

Join our team as a Flex Shopper, supporting outstanding customer experiences by accurately preparing orders for delivery and pickup within a retail store. You will handle a wide variety of everyday groceries including fresh produce, meat, dairy, household essentials, prepared meals, specialty cheeses, wines, and beers.

Schedule and Work Hours

This position demands schedule flexibility, including availability during peak shopping times such as weekends (particularly Saturdays and Sundays), early mornings, midday, evenings, holidays, and peak seasons from November to January. Shifts are assigned two weeks in advance and typically last 4 to 8 hours.

Key Duties

• Efficiently and accurately fulfill online grocery orders using handheld or fixed technology devices.
• Ensure order and product precision through thorough verification and quality checks.
• Acquire product knowledge, adhere to customer service protocols, and familiarize yourself with store operations to consistently deliver excellent service.
• Maintain an organized and tidy staging area to facilitate smooth order processing.
• Manage returns and pickups for both in-store and online purchases.
• Follow legal requirements, such as age checks for restricted products.
• Respond to customer inquiries and provide helpful store information.
• Stay informed about products and ongoing promotions.
• Foster a positive and collaborative workplace atmosphere.
• Communicate clearly and courteously with colleagues and customers.
• Participate in all scheduled meetings, including daily team huddles organized by management.
• Support company initiatives, including diverse checkout options, store formats, product assortments, and technology usage.
• Adhere strictly to operational and safety protocols, including store security standards.
• Comply with all corporate policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Perform other duties as delegated by store or corporate leadership.

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience necessary.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Proficient English language skills sufficient for order preparation and shopping.
• Minimum age requirement: 18 years.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk continuously for 4 to 8 hours per shift.
• Capability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working in various temperature zones ranging from freezer conditions to approximately 90°F.
• Tasks may be performed indoors or outdoors.
• Repetitive physical motions including bending, reaching, grasping, twisting, and squatting.
• Safe operation of standard retail and e-commerce equipment.
• Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning agents.
• Potential use of ladders and other specialized equipment.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $17.00 to $25.40, depending on experience. Benefits eligibility depends on factors like work location, seniority, and employment type and is outlined upon hire.

New hires who successfully complete their initial 90 days and remain employed in qualifying roles may be eligible for a base rate increase at that time.
