Prepared Foods Dishwasher - Full Time

Role Overview

As a Prepared Foods Dishwasher at our store in Victoria, British Columbia, you will handle all dishwashing and kitchen sanitation duties essential to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment. Your role will contribute to upholding the positive image of the company by delivering courteous and efficient service to both customers and colleagues, following company protocols and health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small kitchenware thoroughly.
• Keep kitchen floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves clean and organized.
• Assist with receiving kitchen deliveries including proper storage, product rotation, and organization.
• Report to your workstation promptly, properly groomed, dressed, and prepared to work all scheduled shifts, including attendance at required meetings and training.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly and courteously to customer needs and inquiries, including phone and paging duties.
• Support sales by using correct procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, and merchandising products.
• Follow all established protocols including compliance with health, sanitation, and safety policies like Weights and Measures regulations.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace and ensure equipment upkeep meets company standards.
• Carry out assigned opening, mid-shift, and closing duties with accuracy in signage and pricing; immediately notify management of any safety hazards.
• Perform additional tasks as delegated by store, regional, or national leadership.

Experience

No prior experience in retail or kitchen cleaning is required.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand or walk for 6 to 8 hours in an 8-hour shift.
• Use hands for grasping, manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
• Perform physical motions including bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Work with FDA-approved cleaning chemicals safely.
• Tolerate exposure to cold (below freezing and refrigerator temperatures) and high heat (above 90 degrees Fahrenheit).
• Work in both wet and dry environments.
• Adapt to flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Operate tools and machinery such as knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and ladders as needed.
