About Domhan Beag Early Years

We are seeking an enthusiastic, qualified, and caring Early Years Room Leader to become part of our small, welcoming early years environment, situated in Rosbercon, New Ross. Our setting prioritizes children’s individual needs, offering both ECCE and Afterschool programmes designed to support learning, development, and fun in a nurturing atmosphere.

Role Overview

This full-time role involves leading one of our rooms and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality ECCE programme whilst also engaging with children in the afterschool service. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the team to maintain a safe and stimulating environment where children thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Take lead responsibility for managing your designated room on a day-to-day basis.
  • Support and implement the ECCE programme with excellence and adherence to quality standards.
  • Provide care, education, and stimulation suitable for the age group attending the service.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues to foster an encouraging and safe space for children’s growth.
  • Maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and the team, promoting open communication.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess a minimum Level 6 qualification in Early Years/Childcare; Level 7 is preferred.
  • Demonstrated prior experience working in an early years setting.
  • Experience or a strong interest in room leadership roles.
  • Understanding of children’s learning and developmental needs.
  • Committed to delivering high-quality care and education in early years.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A warm, patient, enthusiastic, and caring attitude.
  • Effective organizational and planning abilities.
  • Ability to cultivate positive, trusting relationships with children, parents, and staff.

Terms and Additional Information

  • Full-time hours ranging between 35 and 39 per week.
  • Expect 2 to 3 early finishes weekly.
  • The service operates 50 weeks of the year.
  • Position located onsite at Rosbercon, New Ross.
