Full Stack Software Engineer - Confluence Whiteboards

Overview

The Confluence Whiteboards team focuses on developing a real-time visual collaboration platform within Atlassian Cloud. Their mission enables teams to brainstorm, create diagrams, plan, and convert visual ideas into actionable Jira tasks and Confluence content smoothly.

As a P40 Full Stack Software Engineer on this team, you will contribute to designing, developing, and maintaining features on both client-side and backend services. Key areas include core canvas functionalities, optimizing real-time multiplayer performance, and integrating deeply with other Atlassian products to support scalable visual collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, release, and maintain efficient and reliable features across the full technology stack for the Confluence Whiteboards product.
• Partner effectively with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow engineers to translate user requirements into compelling and intuitive visual collaboration tools.
• Enhance real-time multiplayer capabilities, improve canvas interactions, and manage integrations among Whiteboards, Jira, and Confluence pages.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code while actively participating in peer reviews and technical design discussions.
• Oversee service reliability, troubleshoot and remediate bugs or production issues, and pursue operational excellence continually.
• Engage in Agile processes such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and product demos.
