Full Stack Software Engineer - AI-First (Java, Angular)

About the Role

The role involves working across the full technology stack using Java and Spring Boot on the backend and Angular with TypeScript on the frontend. You will have significant responsibility ranging from product feature decisions and system architecture to cloud deployment and infrastructure management.

Utilizing AI coding agents to boost productivity is a core aspect, requiring you to guide, scrutinize, and validate AI-generated code whilst ensuring high engineering standards.

Given the platform manages sensitive global compliance data, your approach must embed security, system reliability, and thoughtful architectural design.

You will be part of a small, autonomous, low-meeting team collaborating closely with product stakeholders and experienced engineers, enjoying a high level of flexibility, global exposure, and access to cutting-edge AI engineering tools.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead the development and evolution of product features as a member of a self-directed engineering team, coordinating closely with Product Managers to align priorities and solutions.
• Construct and sustain full-stack software applications, switching focus between backend and frontend development as required, using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and TypeScript.
• Implement AI-first development methodologies by leveraging tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Lovable to accelerate coding and enhance productivity.
• Design, code review, and verify AI-assisted software ensuring all solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and conform to engineering quality standards.
• Assume complete ownership over applications, including system design, development processes, cloud deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Integrate up-to-date security practices in application development to safeguard sensitive compliance and business data.
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities and risks by applying security-focused thinking throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute actively to a performance-driven, collaborative engineering culture that emphasizes individual responsibility with minimal unnecessary meetings.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience developing production-quality software applications.
• Robust hands-on expertise with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and TypeScript, comfortably handling both frontend and backend tasks.
• Experience or keen interest in AI-augmented and agent-based software development, including prompt engineering and usage of AI coding assistants or automated workflows.
• Capability to critically assess AI-generated code outputs, identifying defects or vulnerabilities, and applying prudent engineering judgment before production integration.
• Experience with holistic software delivery encompassing system architecture, cloud development, deployment, and application lifecycle management.
• Solid grasp of secure software design principles and awareness of current cybersecurity challenges; specialized security research experience is not mandatory.
• Self-motivated and capable of working autonomously in a results-oriented environment, making informed decisions independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with fluency in English mandatory.
• A strong appetite for learning and adapting to evolving AI development tools and methodologies.
