About BJAK
BJAK began in 2019 with the mission to provide smarter ways for people to manage their finances, starting with the first mobile-first insurance platform in Southeast Asia accessible online to millions. Currently, BJAK is expanding its offerings to include spending, saving, investing, exchanging, traveling, and more to help users maximize their money daily. The company boasts a diverse team with over 20 nationalities, operating globally both from offices and remotely, fostering a culture of passion for innovative financial solutions.
The Role
We seek a full stack engineer skilled in quickly building across BJAK's AI Neobank app. The ideal candidate is product-focused and capable of working across frontend, backend, internal tools, and customer journeys, converting ideas into functional products with agility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver complete product features spanning frontend, backend, APIs, and databases.
- Design customer and internal workflows including onboarding, accounts management, payments, rewards, travel, foreign exchange, support automation, KYC, and risk processes.
- Translate ambiguous product challenges into effective systems featuring intuitive UX and dependable backend functionality.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, mobile developers, backend, and AI engineers to launch and iteratively enhance products.
- Create tools and automation to minimize manual tasks and enable scalable team operations.
- Take ownership of deliverables post-launch by monitoring, troubleshooting, learning from, and improving the system.
Candidate Profile
- Proven full stack development experience with tangible, shipped products.
- Proficiency in frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, Vue, or comparable modern frameworks.
- Solid backend knowledge including API development, data modeling, authentication mechanisms, system integrations, and reliability management.
- Strong product intuition and an ability to streamline complex workflows.
- Adaptability to work swiftly in ambiguous environments with end-to-end ownership of results.
Unsuitable Candidates
- Developers interested solely in a single technical layer.
- Those requiring detailed specifications before commencing work.
- Engineers who deliver UI without understanding backend or operational implications.
- Candidates avoiding production support responsibilities.
- Applicants making unsupported claims without evidence of delivering substantial products.
Additional Information
Applicants must be located in Australia as the role specifically targets this market and requires strong English communication skills for collaboration with global teams. BJAK's recruitment process is designed for efficiency with steps including an online assessment or practical task, technical interview, and final interview with the CEO. Qualified candidates can expect a decision within a week if assessments are completed swiftly.
