Role Overview

This role involves ownership of the entire development stack including frontend, backend, databases, integrations, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. Collaborating with founding, marketing, and operations teams, the developer will translate business needs into reliable, secure, and user-friendly features. A major focus is building a learner portal for students to access lessons, complete assessments, monitor progress, and download certificates. Candidates must demonstrate practical experience developing and maintaining live projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the React-based website including program pages, landing pages, forms, and learner pathways
• Review, debug, and improve codebase for performance, mobile responsiveness, accessibility, and technical SEO
• Build secure user registration, login, password recovery, and dashboard features
• Develop course access, lesson delivery, assessments, and progress tracking inside the website
• Implement enrollment-based access control and secure storage of learner progress and assessments
• Create an automated certificate system with eligibility checks, downloadable PDFs, unique certificate IDs, and verification pages
• Provide authorized staff with course, lesson, learner, assessment, and certificate management tools including issuance, corrections, and revocation
• Develop workflow for FNA-funded course applications and enrollments
• Integrate CRM platforms, payment gateways, email services, video hosting, and other business tools as needed
• Automate lead capture, onboarding, notifications, and data syncing with safeguards against duplicates and errors
• Maintain backend services, APIs, databases, authentication, and role-based permissions
• Manage hosting, deployments, domain setup, SSL, backups, and application monitoring
• Test critical workflows, troubleshoot live issues, and document platform setup and operations
• Evaluate build-versus-buy options and recommend cost-effective, reliable, maintainable solutions

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with React, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• Proven backend development expertise using Node.js or similar technologies
• Experience in API design and working with relational or non-relational databases
• Ability to develop full applications from front-end through deployment
• Experience implementing authentication, role-based access, and secure user data management
• Hands-on knowledge of third-party API integrations and webhooks
• Familiarity with Git, hosting environments, deployment pipelines, and debugging
• Understanding of application security, data validation, performance tuning, and backup recovery
• Capability to comprehend existing codebases and improve maintainability
• Strong ownership, prioritization, problem solving, and communication skills
• Portfolio or project examples demonstrating end-to-end development contributions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing EdTech platforms, learner portals, or LMS
• Background with lesson delivery, quizzes, assessments, and course completion tracking
• Experience generating downloadable certificates, PDFs, and verification pages
• Familiarity with CRM integration, payment workflow, and automation tools
• Support for marketing analytics and conversion tracking
• Capability to independently manage product technical delivery in a startup setting

Initial Priorities

• Evaluate current website, backend, integrations, and hosting structures
• Address top priority bugs and broken automations
• Set phased development plan for learner portal and FNA-funded course launch
• Develop core course access, lesson, assessment, and progress tracking features
• Launch dependable certificate download and verification workflows
• Develop clear documentation and dependable deployment, backup, and maintenance procedures

Work Conditions

• Location: Gurugram, India (work from office)
• Working days: Monday to Friday
• Work hours: 12:30 PM to 9:30 PM IST

Salary and Experience

Fixed annual salary range is INR 360,000 to INR 800,000 depending on candidate’s skills and proven capability. There is no strict minimum experience required but practical experience with live projects is mandatory.
