Role Overview

The Fuel Specialist position is a full-time, on-location role situated in Dire Dawa. The primary responsibility is managing and optimizing the use of fuel to ensure uninterrupted support for ethio telecom's operations. Key duties include overseeing fuel inventory, coordinating procurement and delivery schedules, and maintaining proper storage and handling practices in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

The role requires monitoring consumption patterns, generating detailed reports, and analyzing data to enhance fuel efficiency and minimize waste. Regular inspections of fuel storage facilities and equipment, collaboration with internal departments and suppliers, and adherence to applicable company policies and regulatory requirements are also vital components of this position.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Expertise in fuel management encompassing inventory control, storage, and handling techniques.
  • Capability to track fuel consumption, interpret usage data, and prepare precise reports.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols, environmental standards, and fuel-related regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities for supplier and team liaison.
  • Strong detail orientation and problem-solving aptitude to identify inefficiencies and risks.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in a professional context.
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications and data entry; knowledge of ERP or asset management software is advantageous.
  • Educational background in logistics, supply chain, engineering, or similar technical disciplines; prior experience in fuel or fleet management is desirable.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work on-site, adapt to operational demands, and maintain ethical and safety standards.
