About the Role
Located at 3781 Strandherd Drive, Nepean, Ontario, the Front Store Manager (FSM) at Shoppers Drug Mart plays a critical role in overseeing the entire Front Store section, encompassing all areas except Pharmacy. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service within the Front Store, managing operational processes and financial resources, and achieving store objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain store standards consistently to enhance customer satisfaction, boost traffic, and improve profitability.
- Collaborate with the management team to ensure full compliance with store standards, including backroom areas.
- Manage labor scheduling using Work Force Management (WFM) tools to maximize productivity.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to support smooth business operations.
- Adhere to Human Resources policies and hiring procedures for all departments excluding Pharmacy.
- Maintain wage administration following SLPH guidelines.
- Conduct new hire probationary assessments and annual staff performance evaluations.
- Lead staff performance management through coaching, action planning, and follow-ups.
- Promote the organization's culture, employee engagement, and motivation aligned with core values.
- Analyze financial reports to identify trends, address variances using FSM Monitoring Reports, and meet quarterly and annual financial targets.
- Set departmental goals to motivate teams and ensure target achievement.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance store efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong judgment and decision-making abilities, particularly in controlling expenses.
- Expertise in inventory management planning and preparation.
- Effective leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and developing staff.
- Efficient time management and ability to prioritize in dynamic environments.
- Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of prior retail management experience.
- Proven track record of business development, leading by example, and supporting corporate programs.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with management teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
- Solid business and financial knowledge.
- Demonstrated strength in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
