About the Role
Neighbourly Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time Front Store Clerk position at our Pincher Creek location in Alberta. This role offers a promising pathway to progress into a Front Store Supervisor position within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver friendly, welcoming customer interactions and address inquiries politely.
- Operate the cash register proficiently while managing stock shelves, maintaining organized aisles, and assisting with front store operations.
- Maintain the store's cleanliness and orderliness, including light cleaning tasks and upkeep of product displays.
- Adhere strictly to store policies related to security, shoplifting prevention, lottery ticket sales, and customer-benefit-offers (CBO) ticket procedures.
- Monitor cash register balances, forecast change requirements, and request cash pickups as appropriate.
- Acquire and maintain thorough knowledge of products, stay informed about new arrivals, and understand the store layout comprehensively.
- Effectively merchandise products with correct labelling, rotation, and front-facing techniques.
- Oversee assigned sections, promptly notify buyers of any stock shortages, and assist in inventory tracking and reordering efforts.
- Help implement seasonal displays and promotions to enhance customer engagement.
- Handle challenging customer situations diplomatically and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Record customer feedback and communicate concerns to the store manager.
- Utilize downtime productively between customer transactions and perform additional responsibilities as directed by the Store Operator or Pharmacy Manager.
Front Store Supervisor Responsibilities
- Supervise daily pharmacy and retail store operations to uphold policy compliance and ensure smooth, efficient service.
- Manage receiving and shipping processes including order verification, inventory tracking, restocking, inter-store transfers, and returns; liaise with suppliers and manage damaged inventory.
- Lead employee training, scheduling, evaluations, and conflict resolution to foster team development.
- Ensure accurate billing and cashiering, handling various payment types including AADL, MSP, third-party programs, and point of sale systems.
- Maintain stockroom organization, oversee overstock rotation, and manage merchandise displays including seasonal goods.
- Provide compassionate service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and supporting customers effectively.
- Perform clerical duties like file maintenance, phone handling, and front counter assistance.
- Ensure safety, security, and professional standards in all work areas and staff presentation.
- Physically handle tasks requiring lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods during shifts.
- Fulfill miscellaneous tasks assigned by management including the Pharmacy Manager and District Director.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated accuracy with cash handling and strong customer service aptitude.
- Capability to stand for long durations and multitask within a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment.
- Effective, polite communication skills coupled with solid product knowledge.
- Experience in retail merchandising, cashier duties, or related roles is advantageous.
- Professional demeanor including appropriate grooming and wearing a name tag; mature and cooperative attitude.
- Must pass a Criminal Record Check as part of employment prerequisites.
Work Schedule
- Full-time engagement totaling 32 hours weekly.
- Operating hours span Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Shifts are assigned within store hours with an expectation of some weekend availability.
