Job description
Overview
We are looking for a proficient Front End Washer Mechanic to service and troubleshoot specialized machinery within our can manufacturing plant. This position is vital to ensure the front-end washing machines operate at peak efficiency and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and preventive care on front-end washers and auxiliary equipment.
- Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults on washers, dryers, and related conveyor systems.
- Analyze machinery failures, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime.
- Carry out both planned and emergency repairs involving part replacement, machine alignment, and calibration.
- Consult and interpret technical documentation including manuals, schematics, and blueprints to assist with troubleshooting and repairs.
- Keep thorough records of maintenance work, repairs, and manage parts inventory.
- Work collaboratively with production personnel to enhance equipment efficiency and output.
- Follow all safety procedures and company regulations to maintain a secure workplace.
- Engage in ongoing improvement projects and training sessions.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is advantageous.
- At least 3 to 5 years experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrable background in maintaining and repairing industrial washing or similar automated machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude paired with effective troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Knowledgeable about pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Basic proficiency with electrical controls, including sensors, motors, and PLCs.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic work environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Good communication abilities in both verbal and written forms.
- Physically fit to lift heavy objects and stand for prolonged durations.
