Role Overview

This role is a full-time, on-site Front-End Software Engineer position based in Berlin, Germany. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain responsive user interfaces for HexBau and associated web applications, ensuring excellent usability and consistent performance across a variety of devices and browsers.

Primary Responsibilities

• Implement new features and optimize existing front-end codebases.
• Integrate front-end components with back-end APIs and services.
• Collaborate effectively with designers, product managers, and other engineers.
• Translate user needs and business requirements into intuitive UI elements.
• Conduct code reviews and write automated tests focusing on front-end functionality.
• Contribute to refining the front-end architecture and technical documentation.
• Support ongoing improvements in accessibility, security, and scalability.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong grasp of Computer Science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Hands-on experience in web application software development and programming.
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts and their application in front-end development.
• Basic knowledge of back-end web technologies to facilitate integration with front-end components.
• Proficient in current front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
• Experience using version control systems, particularly Git, along with build tools and collaborative workflows.
• Ability to work on-site in Berlin and engage productively within cross-functional, multicultural teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Familiarity with user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) best practices, responsive design methodologies, and web accessibility standards is desirable.
