Freight and Collection Agent

Job Overview

The Freight and Collection Agent role involves managing payment collections on behalf of Carib Star Shipping Limited for ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Limited. The position requires overseeing customer payment accounts and handling petty cash disbursements accurately.

Primary Responsibilities

• Process daily received payments from customers promptly, issuing receipts immediately.
• Prepare daily bank lodgments to be sent via armored courier.
• Compile and submit daily batch control records of collections for supervisor approval.
• Maintain and update customers' accounts regularly.
• Monitor advance payments to manage and clear outstanding invoices; report any discrepancies to the supervisor for investigation.
• Scan and upload Cargo Release forms related to Detention Security charges to customers' accounts each day.
• Ensure invoices linked to credit customers are dispatched within 24 hours following cargo validation.
• Manage petty cash funds by disbursing payments upon presentation of approved vouchers.
• Maintain accurate recording and receipting of all transactions daily.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Four CXC/GCE O Level passes including Accounts, English Language, and Mathematics.
• Minimum of one year experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
