Job description
Position Overview
We are collaborating with a well-established energy company to recruit an FP&A Analyst. This pivotal role integrates financial modelling, forecasting, performance analysis, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders across the business. It provides substantial interaction with senior management, ownership of budgeting and planning cycles, and the chance to influence key decisions through detailed financial insights and commentary.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, management, and delivery of budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes with accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate closely with various business units to understand financial drivers, spot risks and potential opportunities, and aid commercial decision-making.
- Conduct monthly performance analyses, prepare comprehensive variance explanations, insights, and presentations targeted at senior leadership.
- Design, build, and refine financial models, dashboards, and analytical tools to increase transparency and precision in reporting.
- Champion continuous process improvements and assist in automating FP&A workflows to boost efficiency.
- Maintain rigorous governance standards, ensuring compliance with controls and audit requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified accountant with certifications such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA and a minimum of two years of post-qualification practice.
- Strong financial acumen paired with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in Excel for data-heavy analysis; familiarity with Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms is advantageous.
- Effective and confident communicator capable of engaging with and challenging senior-level stakeholders.
- Highly organized and attentive to detail, able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, or financial modelling is beneficial; knowledge of SAP or similar planning software is a plus.
