Job description
About the Role
We are looking for a Founding Community Lead to develop and expand the GTM ANZ community, focused on sales, marketing, revenue, and growth leaders across Australia and New Zealand. Operated by Pointer, the community already has an active foundation including webinars, executive dinners, partnerships, and shared resources. As the initial dedicated hire, you will own and shape the community's direction, events, partnerships, and overall experience, creating a recognized platform for GTM leaders in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize exclusive, intimate leadership dinners targeting sales, marketing, revenue, and growth executives, focusing on quality over quantity.
- Manage the weekly webinar series by coordinating hosts, speakers, topics, promotional efforts, and follow-ups.
- Forge and nurture partnerships with relevant communities, companies, and industry groups to create co-hosted events.
- Identify and engage top regional operators to invite as speakers and community members.
- Drive GTM ANZ brand growth through innovative events, creative marketing, partnership development, and content dissemination.
- Serve as the principal connector within the GTM ANZ ecosystem, becoming the go-to person for introductions, speaker opportunities, and event spaces.
Who You Are
- Energetic with a strong bias towards taking action and making things happen.
- Entrepreneurial, resourceful, and comfortable working without a predefined playbook.
- Skilled in selling ideas, marketing events, and maintaining long-term relationships.
- Highly organized and self-directed without needing external structure.
- Passionate about delivering quality experiences rather than merely focusing on attendance numbers.
- Keen to build lasting personal connections within the ANZ go-to-market community that can benefit your career long-term.
Additional Information
No prior experience specifically in community or event management is required. Candidates should have at least two years of professional experience coupled with sound judgement and motivation to drive results. This role involves occasional evening commitments, managing cancellations, and hands-on follow-up with RSVP efforts. You will be the sole dedicated team member for this brand within Pointer but will have support from the broader company.
Performance Milestones
- Within 90 days: Establish community introduction, conduct initial dinners and webinars, and secure the first partnership.
- Within 6 months: Develop a dependable events calendar, build a webinar program with speaker waitlists, and launch co-hosted events.
- Within 12 months: Achieve recognition of GTM ANZ as the premier community for go-to-market leaders with regular leadership dinners, ongoing webinars, and an expanding network of partners.
Compensation and Location
- Base salary between $90,000 and $150,000 AUD depending on seniority, plus up to $40,000 variable commission.
- Preference for candidates located in Melbourne or Sydney as the dinners require in-person attendance.
Application Instructions
Please submit a brief introduction outlining why you are a strong fit for this opportunity. Successful candidates will be promptly identified.
