Food Runner

This full-time position is based in Lahaina, Hawaii at Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman.

Role Overview

The Food Runner is responsible for delivering guests' food orders promptly, ensuring hot items remain hot and cold items cold. The role involves greeting guests warmly, describing food items while serving according to seating positions, and maintaining the quality and presentation of each plate before it leaves the kitchen.

Key Duties

• Serve food items efficiently and accurately to guests, ensuring timing and temperature standards are met.
• Provide a friendly and personalized welcome to all guests.
• Verify that all plates are properly cleaned and garnished before serving.
• Confirm the presence of correct condiments and utensils when delivering food.
• Address guests' requests or concerns promptly and rectify any issues.
• Support the service team by clearing dishes and glasses during the meal and returning them to the kitchen.
• Maintain cleanliness in food line and runner stations and regularly check floors for debris.
• Replenish service supplies like plates, utensils, pizza boxes, condiments, and takeout materials throughout service hours.
• Stay informed of food item availability and communicate updates effectively with management and colleagues.
• Uphold high standards of cleanliness in all assigned tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Constantly able to stand and walk, and lift or carry 11-20 pounds.
• Frequently able to use hands and fingers, reach outward, climb stairs, bend, and push or pull 10-25 pounds.
• Occasionally able to reach above shoulder height, squat or kneel, lift or carry 21-50 pounds, and push or pull 26-40 pounds.
