Folding Operator

The Folding Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and clearing folding machines efficiently, while sustaining established production rates and product quality.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct line clearance following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and thoroughly document all activities in Line Clearance Logs.
• Prepare all required materials in advance at the machine workstation.
• Interpret and follow the instructions detailed in job jackets accurately.
• Ensure customer sample pieces are present at the machine and confirm first-piece approval corresponds precisely with the sample.
• Oversee and guide helper personnel during operations.
• Obtain supervisor approval signatures for first-piece quality checks.
• Carry out regular quality checks as specified by departmental SOPs.
• Complete production documentation for Fox Group and, if requested, for customers as well.
• Set machines to specified configurations and monitor their performance to maintain production speed and quality standards.
• Recognize and isolate any defective or non-conforming products, tagging them appropriately for Quality Assurance inspection.
• Comply with all customer-specific manufacturing, quality, and shipping instructions.
• Escalate any ambiguous or conflicting instructions to the department supervisor for clarification.
• Coordinate with the shipping department to acquire and affix labels on cartons when necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned within the department.

Required Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• Have between 3 to 5 years of experience specifically in signature folding for binding as well as Pharmaceutical Insert (PI) folding.
• Be willing and able to work overtime hours when needed.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Operating experience with Vyguk, Heidelberg, and Stahl folding machines is advantageous.
