Job Overview

The Floor Technician is responsible for executing scheduled floor maintenance duties assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. Tasks include mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, shampooing and vacuuming carpets, arranging furniture, and cleaning various furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in floor care is required.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping and with floor-care equipment is advantageous.
• Competence in reading, writing, and speaking English is necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintaining all types of floor surfaces.
• Performing floor buffing, waxing, stripping, and top scrubbing as directed.
• Extracting and vacuuming carpets under supervisor guidance.
• Operating floor maintenance chemicals and equipment properly.
• Reporting repair needs promptly to the supervisor or maintenance team.
• Requesting necessary supplies and equipment through the supervisor.
• Identifying and rectifying safety hazards and adhering to safety protocols.
• Complying with the Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and enforcing employee responsibilities.
• Participating in weekly in-service trainings and following Patient Care Management Systems.
• Ensuring the safety of patients and residents at all times.
• Undertaking other relevant duties as assigned.
