Floor Technician

Job Overview

The Floor Technician role involves carrying out assigned floor maintenance tasks under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor. Responsibilities include mopping, sweeping, dusting, window washing, carpet shampooing and vacuuming, furniture arrangement, and general cleaning of furniture, equipment, fixtures, and hardware.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with floor care procedures.
• Background in institutional housekeeping is advantageous.
• Familiarity with operating floor-care machinery is beneficial.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain floors including buffing, waxing, stripping, and top scrubbing.
• Perform carpet extraction and vacuuming as directed.
• Use appropriate chemicals and equipment safely and effectively.
• Report any repair needs to the Supervisor or maintenance team.
• Request and manage supplies and equipment through the Supervisor.
• Identify safety risks and adhere to safety regulations.
• Comply with Cantex Continuing Care Network's Abuse Prevention policies and participate in weekly training sessions.
• Ensure safety of patients and residents at all times.
• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
