Job Overview
The Floor Technician role involves executing routine floor maintenance and housekeeping duties as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor, contributing to a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floor surfaces including buffing, waxing, stripping, and top scrubbing.
- Operate floor-care machinery for carpet extraction and vacuuming under supervision.
- Apply appropriate chemicals and equipment according to guidelines.
- Report any repair needs promptly to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
- Request necessary supplies and equipment efficiently.
- Identify hazards and comply with safety protocols to ensure workplace safety.
- Participate in weekly training sessions and adhere to patient care management systems.
- Ensure safety of residents and patients while performing duties.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Experience with floor care techniques is required.
- Previous institutional housekeeping experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with floor-care equipment operation is beneficial.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential.
