Floor Technician

Compensation

Potential base pay ranges from $15.97 to $18.25 per hour. Additional bonuses or incentives, if applicable, are provided separately and are subject to program terms. Offers consider factors such as experience, qualifications, location, and certifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate various floor maintenance equipment daily or as required, including auto-scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, carpet extractors for stripping, scrubbing, shampooing, and waxing floors.
• Use automated floor cleaning machines to sanitize large floor areas on schedule.
• Apply correct carpet and upholstery cleaning techniques, such as shampooing, spot cleaning, extraction, and vacuuming.
• Perform general floor maintenance and restoration activities across all surface types.
• Clean, sweep, vacuum, and polish floors ensuring hygiene standards are met.
• Utilize a range of cleaning tools and materials including powered scrubbers, buffers, vacuum cleaners, mops, brooms, and chemical solutions.
• Clean assigned spaces with required disinfectants and cleaning agents.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness in communal areas.
• Handle trash removal, furniture movement, recycling, and debris clearing from assigned locations.
• Support in cleaning and disinfecting resident wheelchairs.
• Report maintenance issues promptly.
• Follow all safety and infection control protocols rigorously.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, carts, and work areas, reporting any malfunctions.
• Comply with FutureCare’s ethics and corporate compliance standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with floor maintenance equipment such as buffers, burnishers, wet vacuums, and auto scrubbers is essential.
• Preferably at least one year of experience in a long-term care facility.
• Ability to comprehend and follow both oral and written directions.
• Basic literacy skills sufficient to read labels and instructions on cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to operate large powered vacuum and buffing machines safely.
• Capacity to interact respectfully with staff, residents, families, and visitors.
• Physical ability to lift, carry or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of standing and walking throughout the facility during work hours.
