Role Overview
The Floor Supervisor role based at the Limerick MarketPlace involves managing daily departmental operations to ensure excellence in sales, customer service, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Consistently meet and enhance operational KPIs, including standards, availability, wastage, labor, and mystery shopper feedback.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, HACCP, and internal audit standards.
- Maintain top-tier merchandising across all department areas.
- Manage promotion execution according to guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to all Standard Operating Procedures.
- Support the Floor Manager in achieving targets related to sales, margins, range, stock replenishment, picking, and compliance.
- Control waste, markdowns, and shrinkage effectively within the department.
- Develop strong customer relationships to understand and fulfill their needs, fostering loyalty.
- Collaborate with the reorder team to maintain optimal stock levels and oversee specific orders when necessary.
- Implement disciplined stock management including regular date checks and product rotation.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping for HACCP standards and requirements.
- Regularly track and analyze performance metrics, taking corrective action as needed.
- Lead and motivate a high-performing team with clear objectives, target setting, and performance assessments.
- Address underperformance promptly and recognize exemplary performance.
- Demonstrate leadership aligned with Musgrave values, holding oneself and team members accountable for results.
- Facilitate team development and succession planning within the branch and wider organization.
- Staff departments adequately to maximize efficiency and productivity cost-effectively.
- Provide continuous training and development opportunities for colleagues.
- Communicate effectively to ensure team members understand their roles and key objectives.
- Maintain compliance with all legislative and company policies regarding Health & Safety, Environmental Health, and food safety.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience working within retail or wholesale departments.
- Strong knowledge of grocery retail and/or foodservice sectors.
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience in team leadership roles.
