About the Role

ProAmpac is hiring a Printer to operate an 8-color wide web printing press, ensuring print jobs meet high-quality standards through precise adherence to procedures and specifications. The role includes managing printing press operations and maintaining quality control throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise print helpers and assistants.
• Maintain cleanliness and perform daily/weekly maintenance of printing press, equipment, and work areas.
• Achieve individual, team, and shift productivity targets consistently.
• Set up print jobs efficiently, minimizing ink and material waste.
• Train print helpers on print setup, color management, and printing operations.
• Follow established job setup procedures rigorously.
• Adjust and document ink formulations accurately.
• Verify and confirm color accuracy with color management systems.
• Coordinate with the pre-press team for plate mounting, ink delivery, and material logistics to reduce downtime.
• Conduct ongoing quality inspections to uphold the highest print standards and compliance with ISO procedures.
• Make necessary print press adjustments during operation to maintain safety, quality, and productivity.
• Record detailed job production data on company specification sheets for process consistency.
• Communicate clearly with team members; give and follow instructions effectively.
• Collaborate with the Production Manager to continually improve quality, processes, and production efficiency.
• Keep the work area organized and promptly report maintenance issues to management.
• Ensure all safety procedures are understood and followed by print helpers during equipment operation and task performance.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in multi-shift operations preferred, with the ability to meet production targets and deadlines to optimize machine efficiency.
• Hands-on experience running modern 8-color Flexographic printing machines is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and keen attention to detail.
• Capability to comprehend instructions and communicate effectively.
• Physical ability to meet the job's physical demands.
• Commitment to promoting and following safety procedures.
