Fitness Manager

Position Overview

Recroot Africa is seeking an experienced Gym Manager for a premium fitness and wellness center located in Masaki, Dar es Salaam. This leadership position demands proactive ownership of daily operations, facility maintenance, team supervision, and overall performance to uphold the highest standards.

Key Duties

• Manage all daily gym operations to ensure seamless and professional service delivery.
• Oversee the maintenance and management of gym property, equipment, and assets.
• Ensure all gym facilities and equipment are properly serviced and operational.
• Supervise diverse staff including reception, trainers, cleaning, bar, and support teams.
• Handle staff scheduling, attendance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary matters.
• Develop, implement, and enforce operational procedures aligning with company policies.
• Maintain top standards of cleanliness, safety, ambiance, and customer service at the gym.
• Monitor inventory levels, supplies, equipment usage, and control operational costs.
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and service providers as necessary.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and execute solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Address customer feedback promptly and professionally to resolve issues.
• Compile operational reports and update management regularly on key metrics and challenges.
• Facilitate initiatives to boost member satisfaction, retention, and overall business outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven track record in managing gym, fitness, hospitality, facility, retail, or analogous operational environments.
• Strong expertise in managing personnel, facilities, equipment, and operational workflows.
• Demonstrated leadership and effective team management capabilities.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Able to juggle multiple departments and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Comprehensive understanding of asset and facility management principles.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Professional, hands-on, and client-centered mindset.
• Experience operating within high-end or premium service settings is highly beneficial.
