Fire Officer

About the Role

The Fire Officer will be responsible for overseeing fire safety protocols at the assigned site within the mall operations business. This role involves managing fire safety equipment, leading emergency response actions, and ensuring adherence to all safety standards and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up firefighting and emergency equipment upon arriving at an incident location.
• Coordinate and accompany the Emergency Response Team (ERT) during fire events or emergencies.
• Develop and conduct evacuation drills and fire safety training sessions for team members and premises occupants.
• Carry out rescue, firefighting, and salvage missions at fire scenes to mitigate damage and save lives.
• Use established safety protocols to assess and rescue individuals trapped inside burning facilities.
• Conduct lift evacuation and rescue drills on a scheduled basis to ensure readiness.
• Secure fire-affected structures to prevent reignition after fire suppression.
• Inventory all equipment post-fire suppression, document equipment left onsite, and compile incident reports.
• Participate in pre-fire planning studies and maintain up-to-date knowledge of pre-fire plans.
• Coordinate with government authorities for timely renewal of necessary clearances and NOCs.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all fire incidents occurring at the site.
• Keep fire equipment maintenance checklists and training records current and accurate.

Reporting

Reporting to the Fire Safety Manager or Operation Head as applicable.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be analytical and detail-oriented, ensuring all fire and life safety systems function efficiently. This professional will determine the appropriate type and quantity of firefighting equipment required for various areas.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess a Diploma or Degree in Fire Engineering or Fire Safety, with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of modern fire suppression methods, firefighting techniques, and emergency medical service principles is desirable.
